Why We Are Thankful

Every day, we come into the pharmacy and our list of things to do is filled with people who need help. This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for the opportunity to help others.

We know what you’re thinking—most people are thankful for the things they have, their families, their friends, their good health, and so on, but the truth is that our customers are our family. We have been in business for decades and some of our customers started as high school students and are now grandparents. We serve generations—parents, children, grandparents, cousins, friends. We get to know everyone here personally. We go through difficult times with our customers, but we also get to work with great moments in their lives, too (for instance, new babies). We get to bring pain relief to the sore, cures to the sick, and hope to parents who just can’t get their kids to take their medications (ask us about our flavored, medicated lollipops next time you’re here).

As a compounding pharmacy, we get to help pets, too. If you’re not a pet lover, you’ll likely never understand. But to provide life-saving and pain-relieving medications to dogs, cats, birds, horses, and more, all in addition to helping hundreds of people every day, is just that much more wonderful.

365 days a year, the good people of Jefferson Hills and the surrounding area are better because of the work that we do. To see our customers stop by and see us after beating cancer or surviving a heart attack is a feeling like nothing else in the world. We’re so incredibly inspired by the stories we get to be a small part of here at the pharmacy. We see people overcome tremendous odds and come out better than they were before. Thank you. Seeing this tremendous strength constantly appear on the other side of our counter is so inspiring.

We go home thankful for our families. We’re thankful for being able to spend our lives helping others. We’re thankful for having been around for so long, so that we can be a part of not just a year or two of someone’s life, but entire generations. We’re thankful that we’ve been able to be a light to others who weren’t sure what to do next. We’re thankful that our lives have helped save and improve thousands upon thousands of our customers’ lives. We sleep very well at night knowing exactly what a wonderful life we have by dedicating ourselves to you. You’ve given us more than we could have ever guessed—you’ve given us fulfillment and the knowledge that each day is precious.

Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving,

The Pleasant Hills Apothecary
